Jura court tries 53-year-old father accused of raping and prostituting his son
A 53-year-old man is on trial in Jura for repeatedly raping his son from ages 7 to 14 and forcing him into prostitution, after being extradited from Chile.
A 53-year-old father is being tried in the Jura criminal court for raping his son repeatedly between the ages of seven and fourteen and for forcing the boy into paid sexual encounters. He assumed custody of the child after the mother, an alcoholic, died, and prosecutors say he also targeted eight other adolescents. The case, which opened Thursday, covers offenses from early 2016 through June 2023, including rape, sexual assault, pimping and corruption of minors.
Two other men, aged 52 and 58, will stand trial with him, accused of repeatedly raping the son and a peer aged 11 to 15. The father fled to Chile in 2023, was later extradited, and now acknowledges most of the alleged conduct while contesting some charges. The defense has requested a closed-door trial, citing the victim’s privacy, and the son, now 17, faces a painful but potentially relieving legal process.
