Juvenile with knife triggers lockdown at two Perth schools
A student suspected of carrying a knife or machete caused Byford Secondary College and Salvado Catholic College to go into lockdown on Monday afternoon.
Reports of a young person with a blade near Byford Secondary College led authorities to secure both that school and nearby Salvado Catholic College. Pupils were instructed to stay inside classrooms and sheds while police established a perimeter. A suspect was later taken into custody, though officers have not yet recovered the weapon. Police presence remained heavy around Byford Secondary College throughout the incident.
