K-pop fan influencer Mina Chan dies during TikTok livestream after fan backlash

Mina Chan, a 26-year-old TikTok creator known for her ENHYPEN fandom, was found dead during a livestream after receiving harsh criticism from fans.

Authorities from Yongsan Police Station said Mina Chan, a 26-year-old TikTok influencer with more than 80,000 followers, was found dead at her residence around 5:33 a.m. on August 5 while streaming live. Chan, a Japanese resident of South Korea, was known for her enthusiasm for the K-pop group ENHYPEN. She became the target of severe criticism after attempting to give member Sunoo flowers for fellow member Ni-ki at a U.S. concert, an act some fans deemed overstepping.

Despite issuing an apology and expressing regret, she continued to receive hostile comments. Her younger sister announced the loss via an Instagram Story, describing Chan as kind and warm. Following her death, some followers posted condolences, condemning the hateful behavior within the fandom.
