K2 Media Capital Debuts at Toronto Market with International IP Portfolio

Gayathiri Guliani and Uzair Merchant launched K2 Media Capital at the Toronto Film Festival market, targeting cross-border intellectual property across film, TV and immersive formats.

At the Toronto Film Festival market, Gayathiri Guliani and Uzair Merchant introduced K2 Media Capital, a production and investment firm focused on building and exploiting cross-border intellectual property. Drawing on Guliani’s 27-year background with Sony, Lionsgate, Viacom, Reliance and Star, and Merchant’s credits on titles such as Deadpool 2 and Fast and Furious 7, the company aims to treat projects as multi-platform franchises rather than single productions.

Their pipeline already features a Taiwan-India-Jordan co-production feature, a sci-fi espionage proof-of-concept from India and the UAE, a Canada-India-UAE documentary narrated by Kabir Bedi, a Canada-UAE culinary reality series, a UK-UAE suspense thriller in development, and a five-title interconnected franchise called The Kreativ Universe. An international advisory board will support the process from IP creation through financing, production and global exploitation across film, television, games, books and immersive experiences.

K2 plans to negotiate with sales agents, distributors, family offices, studios, streamers, gaming firms and licensing partners to maximize the commercial reach of its properties. The firm is headquartered in the United Arab Emirates.

Why it matters

The launch signals a new model for entertainment financing that prioritizes franchise-ready IP and global market integration.
