A dense haze generated by forest fires in Kalimantan reduced visibility at Supadio International Airport to around 300 meters, halting all take-offs until at least 10:00 AM on Monday. The poor conditions have affected 73 flights in the past three days, with just 11 flights managing to operate on Saturday and nine on Sunday. Airport authorities are still consulting airlines about possible cancellations or further rescheduling.
To support affected travelers, the airport increased personnel in check-in and waiting areas, distributing masks, snacks and water. Information boards have been updated and an Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) process with airlines, AirNav Indonesia and BMKG has been intensified to speed up communication about flight status.
