Kanpur daughter-in-law accused of hiring men to murder father-in-law, ending in brutal stabbing

Police say Shalu Minocha hired former employee Vishal Gautam and his associate Raj Kishor to kill her father-in-law Vineet Minocha, a plan that turned into a savage stabbing.

Authorities allege that Shalu Minocha orchestrated the killing of her 63-year-old father-in-law, businessman Vineet Minocha, by paying former employee Vishal Gautam Rs 6 lakh and providing a duplicate key to the family’s Ratan Orbit Apartment in Kalyanpur. Vishal recruited his unemployed acquaintance Raj Kishor with a Rs 30,000 advance, and the pair entered the flat on September 5, claiming to deliver medicines. The original plan to suffocate Vineet with a pillow and mimic a heart attack collapsed when he entered the bedroom at about 11 pm and noticed something amiss, prompting the attackers to stab him 26 times and slit his throat.

While the murder unfolded, Shalu and her husband Subrat were at the Cosmozin Lounge in Tilak Nagar, where video showed them dancing to a Bollywood song. Police say Shalu stayed in contact with the killers via WhatsApp during the crime. Both Vishal and Raj were apprehended shortly after, and Shalu was arrested on Monday after admitting her role. No valuables were taken, and investigators link the motive to a dispute over recent CCTV cameras installed by Vineet.
