Kansas dairy worker killed; undocumented immigrant with deportation order charged
A 43-year-old undocumented Honduran was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter after allegedly stabbing a co-worker to death at a dairy plant in Garden City, Kansas.
On August 31, a stabbing at a dairy operation in Garden City, Kansas, resulted in the death of 32-year-old worker Adonis Edgardo Aguilar-Juarez. Authorities allege that Erlin Y. Lagos-Gonzales, a 43-year-old undocumented immigrant from Honduras, carried out the attack and have charged him with voluntary manslaughter. The Finney County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lagos-Gonzales, who had previously been served a final deportation order on July 24, 2025 after missing an immigration hearing.
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach criticized the failure to remove the individual and called for stronger collaboration between the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Lagos-Gonzales is being held on a $500,000 bond, with his initial court hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
