Kansas Senate Candidate Adam Hamilton Faces Scrutiny Over Wealth and Church Ties

Democratic Senate hopeful Adam Hamilton, a megachurch pastor, has a disclosed net worth of up to $20 million and receives a substantial salary from his church, prompting questions about his anti-elite campaign rhetoric.

Democratic Senate candidate Adam Hamilton, a pastor of the megachurch Church of the Resurrection, disclosed a net worth that may be as high as $20 million and a salary that surpasses the earnings of Kansas’s U.S. senators. His financial filing also reveals ownership of a vacation property in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, worth nearly $1 million, and a primary home in Stilwell valued at $1.4 million. Hamilton earned $417,372.70 in royalties from United Methodist Publishing House, adding to his income stream.

The church under his leadership has partnered with Kansas City PrideFest, sponsoring events such as a Drag Queen Story Time and a youth tent. Hamilton has contributed to Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign and served on an Obama-era council on commutations and pardons. As the campaign enters its final stretch, a recent Insider Advantage poll gave Republican Sen. Roger Marshall a narrow one-point advantage over Hamilton.
