Kansas State has secured a $500,000 guaranteed payout to host Nicholls for its 2026 season-opening contest at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Guarantees of this type are common for single games that lack a reciprocal away date. Nicholls relies heavily on such payments, which form a significant portion of its athletics finances.

The Wildcats have a history of paying FCS opponents, including a $1.175 million guarantee to Army that resulted in a loss, and a $475,000 payment to North Dakota that nearly cost them a win. Earlier, Kansas State had a $450,000 deal with Missouri State that was cancelled when the Bears found a larger guarantee elsewhere. Future non-conference games for Kansas State include matchups through 2032 against various opponents.
