Karol G dazzles SoFi Stadium with a tropical spectacle on Tropitour debut

Karol G began her three-night SoFi Stadium engagement with a deliberately curated pre-show playlist that featured “Bésame Mucho,” Elvis Crespo’s “Suavemente,” and two Celia Cruz anthems, setting a pan-Latin mood for the audience. The concert highlighted her evolution from reggaeton breakout to a global pop force, a transition aided by producer Ovy On The Drums, with whom she blends tribal percussion and airy synths. Structured as a five-part fantasia, the performance employed tropical visuals—dense vegetation, a lagoon stage and purifying flames—to accompany songs like “Latina Foreva,” “Gatúbela,” and “Ojos Ferrari.”

Mid-show, she introduced Venezuelan opening act Elena Rose and later performed a mash-up of “Provenza” with Willie Colón’s “La Murga.” Between numbers, Karol G expressed empathy for the recent earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela, and a tearful rendition of “Ese Hombre Es Malo” featured an all-female mariachi ensemble. The night concluded with a duet on “Después de Ti” alongside Greg Gonzalez of Cigarettes After Sex, though the massive bass and percussion sometimes obscured instrument clarity.
