Katie Price appears in court as ex-husband Kieran Hayler faces rape trial

Katie Price was present at Lewes Crown Court on Monday, where her former husband Kieran Hayler is being tried for three rapes and a sexual assault involving a girl who was 13 in 2016. Hayler, who denies all charges, has suggested the allegations were part of a set-up following their marital breakdown. The complainant, now 23, first contacted the NSPCC in 2021, prompting police to interview Hayler in January 2022.

In court, she described a text exchange with Hayler after the alleged third rape, where he sent a "goodnight" message and she replied in kind. The victim’s mother testified that her daughter was drawn to Hayler’s attention, while also denying any influence from Price. The defense has questioned the mother’s knowledge of the messages and her earlier response to the allegations. Sussex Police confirmed the charges relate to incidents between June 1 and October 13, 2016, at a West Sussex address.
