Kecskemét court upholds detention order for Fásy Ádám's wife
The Kecskeméti Court of Appeal confirmed a lower court's decision to keep Gurzó Mária in custody for a month in a fraud investigation linked to National Cultural Fund grants.
The Kecskeméti Court of Appeal has affirmed the September 9 decision of the Kecskeméti District Court, which ordered the detention of Gurzó Mária for one month. Gurzó, who is married to filmmaker Ádám Fásy, and the owner-manager of a company that received National Cultural Fund support, are accused of channeling the grant through the firm despite the documentary series not being completed. The National Tax and Customs Administration escorted Gurzó to the Kecskemét court last Wednesday after she was taken into custody earlier in the week. The appellate court's press office relayed the confirmation on Friday, noting that the detention remains in place pending further investigation.
