Keely Hodgkinson dazzles in black speedsuit to claim 800m victory at Athlos
Keely Hodgkinson won the women's 800 metres at the Athlos meet in London while wearing a striking all-black Nike speedsuit.
At the inaugural London edition of the Athlos meet, Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson surged to a 1:56.40 finish, comfortably ahead of Switzerland’s Valentina Rosamilia. She did so in a futuristic all-black Nike speedsuit with a hood and cut-out ponytail design, a look she described as “pretty sick” after the race. The victory earned her $65,000 from the event’s $1,057,000 prize fund.
Training partner Georgia Hunter Bell said the outfit signals a future trend that could appear at the 2028 Olympics. Athlos, created by Alexis Ohanian, emphasizes spectacle, fashion and social media, opening with a red-carpet parade that also featured Serena Williams and her daughters Olympia and Adira. Other star athletes such as Gabby Thomas and Sha’Carri Richardson also won their events, while Ohanian expressed plans to turn Athlos into a league with London as a regular stop.
