Kelington Technologies lands additional RM133 million steel contract in Kuching

Kelington Technologies Sdn Bhd secured a RM133 million structural steel contract for a data-storage plant in Kuching, raising its total work with the client to RM416 million.

Kelington Technologies Sdn Bhd, a unit of Kelington Group Bhd, announced a fresh RM133 million contract on Oct 2 to deliver major structural steelworks for a high-tech data-storage manufacturing plant in the Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone, Kuching, Sarawak. This award adds to a RM172 million contract secured on Sept 29 for engineering and early-stage infrastructure, lifting the cumulative value of orders from the same client to RM416 million.

The new work will commence without delay and is scheduled for completion by April 2028. Kelington expects the contract to positively affect its earnings and net-asset base for the financial year ending Dec 31 2026 and subsequent periods. The company also indicated it will continue pursuing additional scopes of work on the project, with any material developments to be disclosed as they arise.

Why it matters

The deal significantly expands Kelington's exposure to a high-value data-storage project, impacting its near-term financial performance.
