Kentucky mother arrested after husband filmed suffocating 3-month-old daughter

In Boone County, Kentucky, Carleena Webb was taken into custody after police said she ignored her husband Shaun Webb’s abuse of their three-month-old daughter. Nanny-cam footage showed Shaun covering the baby’s mouth and nose for up to 13 seconds, describing the act as "training" her like a dog, and also slapping her while she cried. He admitted the behavior during questioning and was booked on ten class-B felony counts of first-degree criminal abuse.

Carleena returned home on Aug. 21, confronted Shaun, but instead of removing the infant she went back to work and failed to report the abuse or obtain medical attention for the child. Three days later she was arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal abuse for leaving the child in his care. Boone County Sheriff’s Major Philip Ridgel said deputies acted swiftly to separate the children from the violent situation.
