Key GOP figures set to speak at second day of RNC convention

The Republican National Committee’s midterm convention continues Thursday with JD Vance, Donald Trump and top congressional leaders delivering speeches.

Republicans entered the second and concluding day of their midterm convention on Thursday, with JD Vance taking the lead slot before Donald Trump returns for a short 15-minute speech. The lineup also includes Senate Republican Ted Cruz, House Speaker Mike Johnson and former Representative Mike Rogers, who is campaigning for a Senate seat in Michigan. Trump’s earlier keynote highlighted his administration’s achievements and promised a $5,000 “Trump dividend” for every adult if Republicans keep control of Congress.

The night will feature Trump-aligned figures such as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ex-White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Donald Trump Jr. Lawmaker Mike Lawler will use his remarks to showcase his district work while acknowledging the president’s role. The convention serves as a platform to build momentum for the challenging 2026 election cycle.
