KimStim picks up Bruno Dumont's Cannes drama 'Red Rocks' for North America
KimStim has acquired North American rights to Bruno Dumont's Cannes-premiered film 'Red Rocks' and will launch it theatrically in 2027.
KimStim secured the North American distribution of Bruno Dumont's 'Red Rocks', a drama that premiered in Cannes Directors' Fortnight earlier this year. The distributor intends to open the film in U.S. and Canadian cinemas in 2027, with subsequent streaming and physical media windows. The narrative unfolds on the French Riviera, where two youth gangs engage in perilous cliff-jumping contests, focusing on five-year-old Géo as he navigates friendship, rivalry and early romance.
Dumont cast a group of non-professional children and filmed with a naturalistic, documentary approach amid the red cliffs and blue Mediterranean sea. Ian Stimler, co-president of KimStim, highlighted the youthful spontaneity and striking scenery as key draws for North American audiences. The film has already been programmed at festivals in Poland, San Sebastián and New York, and Luxbox handles its worldwide sales.
