King Felipe VI praises Ceuta as model of civic responsibility and emergency preparedness

During a ceremony at the National School of Civil Protection in Rivas Vaciamadrid, King Felipe VI described Ceuta as a shining example of civism amid a period of extraordinary complexity. He lauded the city’s recent milestone of achieving complete emergency training for all schoolchildren and recognized the massive contribution of civil protection teams working alongside other public servants and volunteers. The king explained that incidents like fires, earthquakes, floods or major accidents cross administrative borders and demand flexible coordination and resource integration.

He also referenced the widespread forest fires across Spain, underscoring the importance of preparedness. Interior Minister Fernando Grande Marlaska highlighted the collaborative effort of all administrations in Ceuta to quickly return daily life to normal. Both speakers stressed the value of collective action and training in enhancing public safety.
