King Filip to host President Zelensky in Brussels after Kazakhstan state visit

King Filip will receive Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Brussels tomorrow, following the royal couple’s final day of a state trip to Kazakhstan.

The Belgian monarch is set to welcome President Zelensky for an audience in Brussels after concluding a state visit to Kazakhstan, where he and Queen Mathilde spent their last day in Almaty and visited the Institute of Nuclear Physics. This will be the fifth palace meeting between the two leaders, with previous encounters in 2023, 2024, 2025 and June this year, plus a discussion at Davos in 2024. The engagement underscores ongoing diplomatic ties between Belgium and Ukraine.

Why it matters

The meeting signals continued Belgian support for Ukraine and reinforces diplomatic coordination in Europe.
