Kintetsu to debut luxury train with French cuisine between Nagoya and Shima
Kintetsu Railway has begun selling tickets for Les Saveurs Shima, a new luxury train that will run daily round-trip between Kintetsu Nagoya Station and Kashikojima Station starting in November, featuring French dining.
Kintetsu Railway Co. announced ticket sales for Les Saveurs Shima, a premium tourist train set to launch in central Japan this November. The train will make a single round-trip each day between Kintetsu Nagoya Station in Aichi Prefecture and Kashikojima Station in Shima, Mie Prefecture. Fares, which include meals, are priced between 19,000 yen and 36,000 yen per passenger.
Designed with a blue exterior inspired by the Shima coastline, the carriage interiors feature carpeted floors, leather seats with cushions, luggage racks and warm, indirect lighting; some seats are separated by wood-grain partitions for added privacy. The onboard dining car will serve authentic French cuisine prepared with regional ingredients. Yuji Omura, section chief of the railway’s technical management department, expressed hope that travelers will enjoy a refined experience aboard the high-quality interior space.
