Kirkenes Hospital Declares Red Alert After Major Water Pipe Failure
Kirkenes Hospital has entered red emergency status due to a water pipe rupture, limiting new patient admissions and rerouting emergency cases.
A water main break forced Finnmarkssykehuset to place Kirkenes Hospital on red alert, restricting scheduled admissions. Patients with cancelled appointments will be contacted for new dates. Emergency patients from eastern Finnmark will be sent directly to other facilities, mainly Hammerfest Hospital. The municipality of Sør-Varanger is providing a water tanker to support the hospital.
