In a statement, the Communist Party of Greece condemned the fatal attack on a 32-year-old athlete in Eleusina, characterising it as a fascist-driven act that revives memories of Paúlos Fýssa’s murder. The party linked the incident to a broader rise of extremist factions, noting the recent release of the Nazi-linked offender Kasidiáris as a catalyst. KKE argued that official leniency toward such groups encourages further aggression.
It called on the labour movement to mobilise against the resurgence of fascist elements. The party’s Northwestern Attica branch announced a demonstration at 19:00 on Heroes Square in Eleusina.
