The Communist Party of Greece condemned Prime Minister Mitsotakis' recent post, calling for immediate nationwide demonstrations against EU profit-driven policies.
The Communist Party of Greece issued a statement criticizing Prime Minister Mitsotakis' recent social-media post, saying it ignored the massive street protests occurring in several European countries. The KKE pointed to large gatherings of citizens and young people in France, Spain, Belgium, Italy and elsewhere, which target policies focused on profit and war preparation. According to the party, both EU and Greek authorities prioritize corporate interests over the needs of ordinary people.
It noted that Greek households have begun to feel the effects of rising costs, while major business conglomerates, such as oil refineries, report sharply increased earnings. Consequently, the KKE called for immediate, nationwide action, positioning itself at the forefront of the upcoming mobilization. The party stressed that there is no time for further delay or false promises from one outlet political framework.
Why it matters
The KKE's call for protests could intensify domestic opposition to government and EU economic policies.
