Klebelsberg Center files criminal complaint over alleged abuse in regional director recruitment
The Klebelsberg Center lodged a criminal complaint accusing an unknown party of abusing office in the selection process for regional centre directors, citing possible influence on school opinion reviews.
The Klebelsberg Center has initiated a criminal complaint, accusing an unidentified individual of abusing authority in the appointment process for directors of sixty regional education centres. The complaint stems from irregularities identified in the assessment of applications for the External-Pest Regional Centre, which the Center says might compromise schools' independent expression. It asserts that any effort to influence reviewers not only contradicts the Center's recruitment objectives but also appears to violate existing statutes.
The Center emphasized that all participants entitled to evaluate the applications must act responsibly and respect both the law and each other's sovereign decisions. Education and Child Affairs Minister Lannert Judit noted that the recruitment seeks to install professionals who will become partners in the post-systemic transition, with mayors of municipalities and the full staff of schools under the centre's jurisdiction involved in the review process.
Why it matters
The complaint highlights potential political interference in school administration appointments, raising concerns about transparency and legal compliance.
