KLIA urges fans to skip parking and use rail for Bahrain GP weekend

Kuala Lumpur International Airport has told visitors attending the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang to rely on public transport, warning that parking will fill up quickly.

Ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit from Oct 2-4, Kuala Lumpur International Airport announced that parking at Terminal 1 and the long-term car park will reach capacity early each day, given the expected crowd of more than 200,000 fans. Visitors are urged to leave their cars and travel by Express Rail Link services, e-hailing apps or the complimentary shuttle that will run from Terminal 2, the long-term lot and Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA.

Police are set to enforce traffic diversions between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. throughout the weekend, and motorists should heed any alternate routes. Air travelers are also asked to allow additional time for their journeys due to anticipated congestion on main roads. KLIA said it will coordinate with authorities to keep passenger flow smooth during the race weekend.
