Koch-backed groups pour $5.3 million into digital ads for five Senate contests
Charles Koch’s network is spending $5.3 million on digital ads supporting Republican Senate hopefuls in Alaska, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire and Ohio.
Charles Koch’s grassroots network has allocated $5.3 million to a new digital advertising push aimed at Republican candidates in five pivotal 2026 Senate races: Alaska, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire and Ohio. The ads debuted at the GOP’s inaugural midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, and will run across digital and connected-TV channels. Eleven of the spots are produced by Americans for Prosperity Action, with half highlighting Republican contenders and the other half criticizing Democratic challengers by tying them to the Democratic Socialists of America.
A separate positive ad for Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) is sponsored by Concerned Veterans for America Action. Messaging emphasizes “pocketbook solutions” such as tax cuts, unleashed energy production and curbing government spending, while portraying Democratic candidates as aligned with “extreme” socialist policies. Nathan Nascimento of one outlet Action and Donald Trump both warned that voting for Democrats would lead to higher taxes, bigger government and a shift toward communism.
Why it matters
The spending could shape voter perceptions in key Senate races that will influence control of Congress.
