Kohl’s acknowledges duplicate online charges and works to refund affected shoppers
Customers report being billed twice for Kohl’s online purchases made between late July and mid-August, and the retailer says a processing glitch caused the issue and refunds are being issued.
A number of buyers who ordered from Kohl’s online between July 24 and August 5 discovered duplicate billing or unrequested return entries on their accounts, prompting complaints on social media. The retailer confirmed the situation stems from an internal processing error and is actively reversing the erroneous charges. According to the company, affected customers will see the funds returned within one to three days, depending on their banks, without needing to initiate any steps.
Kohl’s expressed regret for the inconvenience and advised customers to contact its service department with questions. Some shoppers reported that the extra charges caused overdrafts and related fees, highlighting the personal impact of the glitch. The company has not indicated whether additional compensation such as store credit will be offered.
