Kolkata father, son and friend forced to walk naked after gun threat
In Kolkata's Sarsuna area, an 18-year-old man, his father and a friend were stripped and paraded naked after being threatened at gunpoint by relatives of a 13-year-old girl.
During Lakshmi Puja, an 18-year-old man went to Basundhara Park in Kolkata to meet a 13-year-old girl. The girl's family, led by her parents and maternal uncle Rahul Burman, confronted the young man, his friend and his father, threatening them with a pistol. According to police, Burman told the father to either shoot his son or stab him with an oven-heated knife; the father refused.
The three men were then stripped of clothing and forced to walk naked along a busy main road, where videos were captured and circulated. Authorities have arrested the girl's parents and Burman, filing charges that include criminal intimidation, kidnapping, unlawful confinement, outraging a woman's modesty, and illegal possession of a firearm and weapon. Following the incident, angry locals vandalised the girl's home, and police from Sarsuna station were deployed to maintain peace.
