Kongsberg Group signs long-term framework deal with US Marine Corps
Kongsberg Gruppen has secured a framework agreement with the United States Marine Corps for production and support of the Naval Strike Missile system.
The Norwegian defence firm Kongsberg Gruppen announced a new framework contract with the US Marine Corps covering manufacturing and maintenance of the Naval Strike Missile's launch unit and weapon-control system. Deliveries are scheduled through 2034. The missile is already in service with several nations, including Norway, Sweden, Japan, Australia, the United States and Germany, and is described as a fifth-generation, anti-access weapon.
Why it matters
The deal expands a key Norwegian defence exporter’s role in US military capabilities and deepens NATO missile cooperation.
