Kongsberg to supply remote weapon stations for Polish armed forces
Kongsberg Gruppen has signed a contract with Hyundai Rotem to deliver PROTECTOR RS4 remote weapon stations for Poland's army, with deliveries slated to begin in spring 2027.
Kongsberg Gruppen announced a partnership with Hyundai Rotem Company to equip the Polish defence forces with PROTECTOR RS4 remote weapon stations. These stations will be integrated onto three versions of the K2 platform, covering a main battle tank, an armored recovery vehicle and an engineering combat vehicle. Delivery of the first systems is planned for spring 2027, and the contract encompasses maintenance, spare parts and crew training.
Kjetil Reiten Myhra, group director and head of the Defence Systems division, said the deal deepens the enduring collaboration between the two firms. Earlier in October, Kongsberg invested in a Polish facility for drone-countermeasure production, and in January it signed a separate contract with a Polish partner for anti-drone systems. The new agreement reinforces Kongsberg’s role as a supplier of advanced remote weapon technology to international defence programmes.
Why it matters
The deal expands Poland's modernised armament and strengthens defence ties between Norway, South Korea and Poland.
