Korean firms poised to deliver top dividend yields amid new tax incentives

Analysts say Korea District Heating Corp. leads expected dividend yields this year, followed by AJ Networks and several brokerage firms.

According to financial data provider FnGuide, Korea District Heating Corp. is set to lead the list of Korean stocks with the highest dividend yield this year, estimated at 8.69 percent based on a payout of 6,520 won per share. AJ Networks ranks second with an 8.33 percent yield, and brokerage firms NH Investment & Securities and Samsung Securities are projected to offer yields of 7.99 percent and 7.98 percent respectively.

Other notable high-yield stocks include Webzen, SOOP, Cheil Worldwide, Kiwoom Securities, and Korea Investment Holdings, all above 6.8 percent. A total of 29 companies are expected to exceed a 5 percent dividend yield, reflecting new tax rules that reward firms maintaining or increasing payouts and a broader appeal of dividend stocks in a high-interest-rate climate.

Why it matters

Higher dividend yields can boost investor returns and signal corporate confidence in Korea's market.
