Korean herbal medicine gains traction as women prioritize hair-loss prevention

Lee Moon-won explains why more women are seeking early, preventive treatment for hair loss using Korean phytomedicine.

At Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic, the chief doctor reports a surge in female patients, especially in their 20s and 30s, who seek to prevent hair loss rather than treat an advanced condition. He describes how hair thinning in women usually stems from a mix of stress, poor sleep, dietary issues, hormonal shifts and circulation problems, unlike the single-cause pattern seen in men. Standard medications focus on blocking DHT and often fail to resolve the complex picture in women.

Lee suggests that Korean phytomedicine, with its multi-target herbal prescriptions, can simultaneously ease tension, improve sleep, boost circulation and support hormonal balance. While not a cure for all cases, he emphasizes that early intervention using these holistic approaches aligns with the emerging “Beauty Wellness” market that blends medical precision, aesthetic concerns and preventive health.
