KP governor rejects negotiations with anti-state militants, calls for stronger police

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said the province will not negotiate with groups that reject the Constitution and urged a boost in police capabilities.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ruled out any talks or concessions for militants who do not accept the Constitution, insisting that decisive action and a stronger police force are essential for lasting peace. After meeting the families of CTD DSP Imranuddin Khan and Constable Kazim Jan, he reiterated the federal government's zero-tolerance policy announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Kundi said he would divert part of his development budget to procure modern weapons, vehicles and protective gear for police, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirming federal financial support.

He announced that the prime minister approved a Rs160 billion package for the province, including measures on gas, wheat and water-share issues, and that tenders for the Chashma Lift Canal will be issued soon. The governor called on the public to deny shelter to terrorists and urged political parties to unite for KP’s constitutional and development rights.
