Kranti Gaud fined 10% of match fee for post-dismissal gesture in Asia Cup final

During the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final, Kranti Gaud was deemed to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which prohibits language, actions or gestures that could incite a batter after dismissal. The Level 1 offence resulted in a fine of 10% of her match fee, within the range of up to 50% allowed for such breaches. India defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs, clinching a record-extending eighth Asia Cup title, with openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana contributing 68 and 59 runs respectively.

On-field officials Saleema Imtiaz, Shathira Jakir Jesy, Rokeya Sultana and Humaira Farah confirmed the charge. In a separate case, the ICC fined Pakistan 5% of its match fee for a slow over-rate in the semifinal, a sanction accepted by captain Fatima Sana after G.S. Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed it.
