Kremlin spokesperson hopes Hungary will maintain economic ties with Russia

Kremlin spokesman Dmitrij Peszkov said the Kremlin hopes Hungary will keep its economic cooperation with Russia, noting the Hungarian government has been cautious so far.

At a Thursday press conference, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitrij Peszkov conveyed the Kremlin's sincere hope that Hungary will persist in its economic collaboration with Russia. He praised the Hungarian government's measured approach, emphasizing that it has avoided premature steps in the partnership. Peszkov cautioned that any hostile measures by Budapest could negatively affect the two countries' economic links.

He pointed out that the present Hungarian leadership's stance differs markedly from that of former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, yet it has so far acted cautiously in matters of economic cooperation. The spokesperson reiterated that logic dictates the continuation of this cooperation and expressed a desire for that logic to prevail.
