KTM North America recalls over 21,000 GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road bikes due to brake flaw
KTM North America is recalling roughly 21,040 GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles in the United States after regulators identified a rear-brake caliper defect that could impair stopping power.
Federal regulators disclosed that KTM North America Inc. of Amherst, Ohio, is initiating a recall of approximately 21,040 GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles sold in the United States. The recall also covers 4,140 units sold in Canada and targets models from the 2021-2024 production years. The problem stems from the rear brake caliper, which can develop cracks or break, diminishing the brake system’s performance and creating a potential crash hazard.
The affected GASGAS bikes feature a red body with a white logo, while the Husqvarna models display white, blue, and yellow colors with the Husqvarna logo. These motorcycles were priced between $7,300 and $13,000 at authorized dealers. Consumers are urged to stop using the bikes immediately and contact a dealer for a complimentary repair. To date, no injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled motorcycles.
