Onboard were Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation, who were received by a Swiss convoy of roughly ten vehicles. Switzerland and Kuwait have maintained close diplomatic relations for six decades, a milestone celebrated in February when Swiss President Guy Parmelin visited Kuwait during the World Government Summit.
