L'Oreal pushes quick commerce and local brands to boost Indian growth
L'Oreal said its Indian consumer products unit posted double-digit growth and is accelerating quick-commerce, expanding CeraVe and La Roche-Posay, and acquiring a majority stake in digital-first firm Innovist.
L'Oreal announced that its Indian consumer products business achieved double-digit growth in the September quarter, supported by robust hair-care and skin-care sales. In the broader SAPMENA-SSA region, like-for-like revenue rose 19.2%, with India and Indonesia driving acceleration. The company is prioritising quick-commerce to capture a larger share of the online market and is expanding its dermatological portfolio, with CeraVe rapidly entering new Indian cities and La Roche-Posay launched at a higher price point.
To deepen its digital foothold, L'Oreal bought a majority stake in Innovist, a digital-first personal-care company, and its venture arm BOLD teamed up with Nykaa to take minority stakes in high-growth Indian beauty and wellness brands. Globally, L'Oreal posted third-quarter sales of €11.56 billion, up 7.2% on a comparable basis.
