Larsen & Toubro's Power Transmission & Distribution unit won orders worth between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore for projects in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and India.
Larsen & Toubro's Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) segment announced it has secured contracts valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore across three markets. In Saudi Arabia, the orders cover 380 kV transmission and substation work aimed at expanding capacity and facilitating renewable energy evacuation. The United Arab Emirates contract involves building 132/11 kV substations together with associated cabling.
Domestically, a leading private sector developer in India awarded PT&D a project to establish a transmission system—comprising lines and substations—in Visakhapatnam. Joji Sebastian, executive vice-president and head of PT&D, said the deals demonstrate the unit's ability to deliver complex power infrastructure worldwide and to meet growing demand for grid strengthening and renewable integration. L&T shares were trading at ₹3,733.40 on the NSE at 9:42 am on October 5.
Why it matters
