La7 hosts accuse right-wing media bloc of character assassination against Ranucci

During a recent episode of La7's Piazza Pulita, host Corrado Formigli was joined by Domani director Emiliano Fittipaldi to denounce what they termed a systematic character assassination of journalist Sigfrido Ranucci. They blamed a coalition they labeled the “Angelucci group,” alleging it is owned by a politician, a Lega chief and a private-health entrepreneur, for mounting a media massacre that threatens investigative reporting.

Formigli described the attack as concentric and damaging to the profession, while Fittipaldi contrasted the Angelucci owners with left-wing publishers, whom he said are unemployed recipients of basic income. He also suggested that a political figure named Rocca had dramatically increased funding to the Angelucci group. The segment warned journalists not to provide pretexts for such attacks.
