Lăcrămioara Perijoc reaches European boxing quarterfinals in 57 kg division
Romanian boxer Lăcrămioara Perijoc advanced to the quarterfinals of the European Championships in Sofia after a 5-0 win over Serbia's Nikolina Cacic.
Competing in the 57 kg category, Perijoc defeated Nikolina Cacic of Serbia with a unanimous 5-0 decision to move into the last eight. Her next opponent will be Turkey's Esra Yildiz Kahraman, a bronze medalist from the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2025 World Championships in Nis. Romania fielded nine athletes at the event, including two women, Perijoc and Crinuța Sebe, who will face Armenia's Elida Kocearian in the 65 kg quarterfinals.
