Lahore police seek federal listing of suspects in foreign woman gang-rape
Lahore police have asked federal authorities to add three alleged gang-rapists of a foreign visitor to the Provisional National Identification List.
A 20-year-old foreign woman visiting Pakistan for business was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a rented flat near Raiwind, Lahore, during the night between Friday and Saturday. Lahore Police have forwarded a request to federal officials to place the suspects' names on the Provisional National Identification List. After the assault, the suspects escaped the city, and investigators have located one of them in Sialkot.
Police have also taken into custody two relatives and a domestic servant connected to a primary suspect, and have seized the vehicle believed to have been used. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran confirmed that all three suspects have been identified and that joint teams from the Crime Control Department, operations and investigation wings are pursuing arrests. Cantt Division SP Investigation Asim Iftikhar is leading the coordinated police effort.
