Land Rover trims Defender 110 prices in India after starting local assembly
Land Rover has cut the price of the Defender 110 in India by up to Rs 34 lakh following the launch of CKD production, adding many previously optional features as standard.
Land Rover has begun assembling the Defender 110 in India via a completely knocked-down (CKD) line, making the country the second market worldwide to produce the model locally after Slovakia. This shift has enabled the company to slash the price of the 3.0-litre diesel D350 and 3.0-litre petrol P400 trims to Rs 1.18 crore each, a reduction of Rs 34 lakh from the previous fully built-up (CBU) price of Rs 1.52 crore. The 2.0-litre petrol P300 variant now sells for Rs 99 lakh, Rs 14.5 lakh cheaper than its CBU counterpart.
The price cuts are accompanied by a suite of equipment upgrades, with the higher-spec models gaining 29 new standard items and the P300 receiving 17, including electronic air suspension, Adaptive Dynamics, Terrain Response 2, and premium interior finishes. Additional standard features across the lineup cover advanced lighting, off-road capabilities, and enhanced cabin comfort such as a refrigerated centre console and three-zone climate control. The locally assembled Defender retains its 0-100 km/h times of 6.1-7.4 seconds and its 900 mm wading depth, while offering a 13.1-inch curved HD touchscreen infotainment system.
Why it matters
The price reduction makes the premium Defender 110 more accessible to Indian buyers and signals deeper localisation of luxury SUVs.
