McLaren announced that defending champion Lando Norris has extended his agreement with the team through the close of 2030, with a clause that could allow the partnership to continue further. The contract’s financial details were not released, but a news agency linked the deal to a potential earnings figure of $35 million per year. Norris, 26, became the first McLaren driver to win the world title since 2008 and expressed enthusiasm about remaining with the outfit, describing it as his “home” and reaffirming ambitions to add more championships.

His latest victory came at the Dutch Grand Prix on August 23, following a win in Hungary before the mid-season break. Currently, he occupies fourth place in the drivers’ standings, trailing leader Kimi Antonelli by 83 points.
