Landslide blocks E39 highway near Jørlstravegen in Sunnfjord
A landslide has covered the E39 at Jørlstravegen in Sunnfjord, forcing the road to close for several hours. No people, vehicles or structures were hit.
The slide, about ten metres wide and one metre high, made the E39 impassable near Jørlstravegen in Sunnfjord, Vestland. Authorities from the Vest police district reported the blockage at 10:19 on Sunday. Statens vegvesen expects the closure to last at least a few hours while a contractor is dispatched to clear the debris. The incident caused no injuries or damage to property. Meanwhile, NVE issued an orange alert for landslide and flood risk across Vestland and parts of Rogaland this weekend.
