Langley police to brief public on large extortion and violence probe
Langley RCMP announced a press conference to reveal details of a major extortion and violence investigation that has resulted in several arrests and serious charges.
Langley RCMP will hold a news conference on Friday morning to disclose information about a large-scale investigation into alleged extortion and related violence. Superintendent Harm Dosange and Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, both representing the B.C. Extortion Task Force, are slated to speak at 10 a.m. PT. The probe focuses on a criminal network operating in the Lower Mainland, where recent threats against the local South Asian community have escalated.
The task force, created by the province last year, has already secured several arrests and filed what officials describe as significant charges. Police indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that further updates will be provided during the briefing. The conference will be streamed live for public access.
