The department declined to comment on any disciplinary actions, citing privacy law, but affirmed its commitment to a professional workplace. With the force now at 8,507 sworn officers—the lowest count since 1995—Chief Jim McDonnell cautioned that the department may be understaffed for the upcoming 2028 Olympics. The Police Commission continues to await the report, emphasizing fair hiring as a priority.
