Large blaze engulfs Bella Italia campsite in Peschiera del Garda, dozens injured
A massive fire broke out early this morning at the Bella Italia campground in Peschiera del Garda, leaving dozens with injuries of varying severity.
In the pre-dawn hours, a large fire ignited at the Bella Italia campground in Peschiera del Garda, Verona province, while the site was occupied by guests. The blaze consumed roughly twenty mobile homes and prompted an alarm just before 6 a.m. Firefighters, numbering twenty and supported by five fire engines and six Suem 118 rescue vehicles, continue to contain the incident. Medical authorities received one patient classified as red (critical), seven as yellow (serious) and sixteen as green (minor), all transported to the Peschiera del Garda hospital and other nearby facilities.
The firefighting effort was hampered by nearby LPG cylinders and parked cars, and witnesses reported an explosion during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
