Las Vegas judge issues arrest warrant for flamboyant betting star over contempt

A Nevada judge signed a no-bail bench warrant for influencer David Oancea after he missed a court hearing tied to a $30.2 million judgment.

A Las Vegas judge issued a no-bail bench warrant for sports-betting influencer David Oancea, popularly called “Vegas Dave,” after he failed to attend a civil hearing. The contempt order originated from a July case brought by Mexican vacation-rental company Cabo Platinum, which secured a $30.2 million judgment and barred Oancea from interfering with future rentals. Oancea was instructed to surrender three Mexican properties, $375,000 in cryptocurrency, a Richard Mille watch and several Hermès Birkin bags, but he claimed he no longer owned them.

Attorneys for Oancea appeared without him and could not account for his location. Judges Tara Newberry and Timothy Williams found his testimony inconsistent and warned that he must either comply with the asset surrender or face incarceration, also awarding Cabo Platinum additional attorney fees and costs.
