Late domestic and overseas ballots begin to be tallied for Tidö election
Counting of early, late and foreign votes that missed the Sunday deadline has started on Wednesday morning.
After the polls closed on Sunday, a batch of ballots cast early, submitted late, or mailed from abroad were not included in the initial tally. Officials began processing these outstanding votes on Wednesday. The effort aims to ensure that all eligible votes are accounted for in the final result for the Tidö contest.
Why it matters
Including all eligible ballots ensures the election result reflects every voter's choice.
